Showing MLB Team Spirit

Team loyalty is very important to baseball fans. While most people have a love of the game that transcends individual teams, when push comes to shove, they can rabidly defend the players, coaches, and legacy of their chosen franchise. Showing team spirit can be as simple as expressing verbal devotion and support for the team or as elaborate as investing thousands of dollars on autographed memorabilia and season tickets and hundreds of hours a year following the team.

Most fans will do whatever they can to see their team play in person, even if they can only afford to do so once during a season. They will make sure to watch every game, preferably live and in the company of other fans at viewing parties or sports bars. They will follow their players exploits in the news and online. With social media they can now follow and like teams, players, and even fan clubs as well as replace their profile pictures with team logos and mascots.

At home, these individuals will have closets full of MLB jerseys and walls covered with baseball caps and batting helmets. They may have official banners and posters from different seasons or championships and some will have an annual reservation to rent the team mascot costume for Halloween — the ultimate demonstration of team spirit.
