What to do in Montreal

You’ve checked into your Montreal boutique hotel for vacation. You have reservations for dinner at a trendy international restaurant, but you’re wondering how to spend the time in between. If Montreal is known for it’s nightlife and food, what is there to do in the daytime?

Montreal actually has something for pretty much everyone. Outdoor recreation, theme parks, museums , historic sites, and even casinos are here. If you’re not in town for one of the city’s many festival it doesn’t hurt to check the newspaper to see if there’s one going on that would interest you. The park system offers a range of gardens, green areas, and sporting fields for hiking and biking in the summer and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter.

Museums go far beyond the usual art and history. Montreal museums exhibit on subjects such as military history, architecture, ecosystems, archaeology, railway history and even the process of maple sugaring. Families will want to explore the Insectarium, the Zoo, the Planetarium , the interactive science museum and maybe take in the Six Flag amusement park. There are many historic building, churches and monuments throughout the city that offer tours and a glimpse into the city’s rich and multi-cultural past.
