We made a decision to stay an extra night in Los Angeles, there’s just way too much fun here, but instead of staying in Hollywood, we headed back to the coast and stayed overnight in Santa Monica. We even splurged, ruining our budget and found a room here . We really went all out that night and went to this really thumping club called Zanzibar , the place was really cool! We danced the entire night, even if we didn’t have any boys asking us, we’d go straight out there and dance; the music wouldn’t allow otherwise. Hoping place, full of really cool people and the DJ was poppin’.
Later on, in need of air and a cool down, we went walking along Santa Monica pier. We recognized many of the places from films that were shot here. We didn’t have dinner, so we were starving, we kept walking around hoping to find a decent restaurant open. We found Swingers , we had no idea we stumbled upon one of the most popular late night eateries in Santa Monica, and we could see why, for one thing, it’s open till 4am, the place is low-class cool, diner style and the menu would satisfy any appetite. The place was crowded, so we sat up at the counter and each ordered hamburgers and fries. We wolfed them down, and not very lady like either. We had no idea clubbing would make us so hungry.
The next morning, well only a few hours of sleep later, we forced ourselves up and headed to Venice Beach. The place sounded idyllic, but we’ve never seen so many intoxicated people so early in the morning, I guess they’re left overs from a late night clubbing. Definitely not a place for children or grandparents. We headed back up to Santa Monica and went poolside of our very lovely, then checked out and caught the hotel van to L.A.s airport. Time to head back to the southern state of Mississippi. California is so very different than where we live, it’s a great place to visit and have tons of fun in, but it’s not home.
