Travel in Northern Arizona

We are planning to rent a cabin from the National Parks Service on Monday and stay over night. We reserved late and could only get it for the night, but we are lucky we got that, as these cabins are highly coveted and rent out quickly. Instead of luxury hotels, we will be staying  an hour from the Grand Canyon, south west of Flagstaff, Arizona at sixty seven hundred feet elevation. There is no running water and no electricity, but there is an outhouse. It may be possible to see turkey, coyotes, even wolves. Some day I hope to see a mountain lion. They have a camp stove so we can use that.  The next day we plan to head up to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon but first stopping in Page, Arizona and heading over to RD’s Drive-In. I will have the green chili cheeseburger and a chocolate malt and of course the chili cheese fries. the Mexican food looks good, too, like the burrito supra and the breakfast burrito. Maybe they will make me a bacon green chili burger with cheese, maybe a triple. Although it is hard to resist a chili cheese dog. They have chili, as well, and I’d like to see what they call chili. After that food fest, we will roll ourselves back out to the truck and head to the North Rim. We like to camp on our own, back country or dispersed, and we should be able to find a great place right along the rim. I mean, right on the rim of the Grand Canyon. I camped there several years ago and saw a Condor. We got a new tent that we can stand up in and we are looking forward to using it for the first time.
