Dal’ouna Plays Dubai
When looking for the perfect five-star hotel, Dubai has a lot of options for the savvy traveler. Dubai is a fabulous city, and has become one of the world’s hotspots in the past two decades, experiencing an amazing amount of growth due to efforts from the government. There is a strong pull here for celebrities from all over the world, drawn by the fantastic beaches, the world-class shopping, and the splendid hotels. Our hotels are truly sublime, meeting the highest standards of the industry, and providing you with an experience that blends old world charm with new world convenience. Once the energy of Dubai starts to reach you, it will hold you in its charms, and beckon you to come back again and again.
Dubai does not only attract movie stars, however. There are also a fantastic number of artists here, contributing to the local and growing gallery scene. There is enough activity to suggest that an alternative art culture is forming in Dubai, with interesting developments by the young locals as well as international guests. One can also see this working in the local music scene, with groups like Dal’ouna. Dal’ouna is a Palestinian band, based in France, who specialize in Palestinian classical, folkloric, and original music. They come through here fairly frequently, and would be a marvelous choice for a visitor, looking for a lively event when out on the town for an evening.
Dal’ouna plays classical Palestinian music on classical western instruments, and also plays music that is traditional yet is influenced by contemporary French music, and integrates sounds from jazz and any influence from the local cultures they meet when traveling. In this regard, Dal’ouna is a lot like Dubai, mixing the best of everything, and excluding no influences. The result is a very upbeat and heartfelt ensemble, who play with great skill and great energy, and heighten the experience of living. There are often special guests playing with them, often refugees who have amazing talents and may not otherwise have opportunities to play live for large audiences. There are also traditional Middle Eastern instruments, and even an accordion, accompanying the vocalists heavenly vibrations. Highly recommended.
